The Questions We Ask Ourselves in Times of Silence
Where should we FOCUS our attention?
Don’t focus on what’s lacking or not working in your life. Choose to re-direct your attention. Let go of the past, the disappointments, hurts, and the losses. It is much healthier to use your time to cultivate what you already have.
For singles, such as myself- The obstacle of not getting married- never finding a husband on your timeline may be the greatest blessing and gift that could come your way. When you reframe you can perceive the obstacles as opportunities. This could possibly mean a detour in the direction that was Designed just for you. A divorce for those of you who are or have been married may be an indication that it is time for you to learn the art of self- love and to practice it. A disease or illness is a chance to get closer to God and your family.
If you have suffered a job loss, then you can explore the dream you have always had of entrepreneurship. You can use your knowledge, skills, and abilities and turn them into a business and work for yourself. You are on your own timeline.
Sometimes life even takes away our “coping mechanisms”- which we have seen during the shutdown. It is amazing all of the time we have to think and be with ourselves; why not ask for a sign during these times?
Did someone call you that you have not heard from in a year? Did you receive a text or email for something you applied for or wanted to audition for 6 months ago? What if another door of opportunity opens just as you stopped mourning the loss of the last closed-door whether that be a relationship, job, or business deal, client, etc.?
You may ask yourself and be wondering how do I know when I am moving in the right direction? Well, things sort of click into place with little to no resistance. They just fit. You don’t have to swim upstream. You can find the guidance in you and around you. Next, it is important for you to keep your eyes wide open to synchronicities and serendipities. Or hunches, inclinations, sudden insights, bursts of ideas, a surge of energy- go with it- go with the flow-
There is a wonderful quote from A Course in Miracles and I would like to share it with you today. “Those who are certain of the outcome can afford to wait and wait without anxiety.”
“The presence of certainty is available to use when we get aligned and are willing to be patient.”
When we pray to God for guidance, direction, wisdom we should ask the following:
“Where should I go? What shall I do? Whom am I sent to minister to and to ultimately serve?”
